About

Can you please tell us your personal background?

I have two kids and hold a degree in Master of Business Administration. In 1997 I founded my first company – we sold mobile devices. During my personal career in digital, I held management positions at Otto and eBay. In summary, I realized more than 100 digital projects across Europe.

What was your main decision to dedicate your life to dgroup?

I wanted to build up an international team of digital experts. We had a clear vision of revolutionizing digital and ecommerce projects by combining strategic consulting methods and realization experience of digital projects into one unique and holistic approach. It was the time when dgroup was born.

Can you please tell us your personal view on digital today?

mytaxi, Uber and successful car sharing models of the mobility and transportation sector are examples of businesses that have moved completely to digital already. When I started my career at Otto in 2000, only 10 percent of the companies’ revenue has been generated through Internet businesses. Today, the number has changed to almost 90 percent. In South Korea, online commercial transactions outpaced those of offline retailers already for the first time in 2014. Even at home I see my two years old daughter using my iPhone due to its intuitive usability. So my personal view on digital is simple: Digital has already changed our personal life drastically and will change it even further in the future.

Digitalization is changing our lives, can you please tell us your personal vision of our digital future?

“Everything that can be digitized will be digitized” Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt quoted the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel at the NOAH Internet Conference 2015 and I also would describe my personal vision of our digital future with this single sentence. To be “offline” will be the new luxury status and the programming languages will become the new most important languages to learn for us.

Please tell us three things you would like people to remember about you?

This project provided us with an innovative, sustainable and smart solution.
