Julia Dohm

Analyst at dgroup

Special focus: Digital Transformation and Customer Centric Business Modeling

„Considering myself a knowledge collector, I follow by the rules of: Do. Fail. Learn. Repeat“

What are your main tasks?

Serve our clients by co-developing truly customer centric solutions which put our clients and their customers first. Always.

Knowledge is key and an essential success factor in our job. Therefore, I am responsible for gathering and bundling our dgroup knowledge in order to provide it to all our dgroup colleagues.

What is your academical and professional background?

Being a textile engineer, I earned a masters degree in General Management from Zeppelin University with semesters abroad at Columbia University in New York City and at the Indian Institute of Management, India.

Professionally, I started off in the Retail and Consumer Goods industries from various Marketing perspectives (e.g. Communications and Product Marketing and Management), before deciding to bring my experience to the next (digital) level.

Due to my experience and knowledge of the textile and consumer goods industry, I understand the retail and consumer goods value chains with their demands and challenges while facing the digital transformation and new customers’ requirements.

What made you decide to work for dgroup?

The promise of an unusual consultancy which truly considers its people to be the greatest asset and therefore deeply cares for its culture.

What really motivates you?

Working in a team where everyone contributes individually, so that you can learn mutually.

Early bird or night owl?

Depends on the setting – and the time pressure.

Digital native or immigrant?

Digital Native. Although, if you would consider Snapchat the holy grail… call me an immigrant ;)

Which digital product or service would you liked to have created?

Anything Sharing…

Three books / blogs / podcasts you want to recommend?

  • Bits on technical history and revolution: The Innovators by Walter Isaacson.
  • Bringing together the similarities and contradictions of politics and rap music: Machiavelli Podcast.
  • For anyone who would like to get a glimpse of the Indian culture (if that is even possible): The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga.

Which three things would you take to a lonesome island?

Sun screen 50+ (ginger alert!), my favorite person, a kindle filled with all books on my reading list

Where have you lived?

Cologne, New York, Bangalore, Lake Constance, but I consider myself born to be hanseatic, so Hamburg is just a matter of time.

What do you think about whilst traveling?

How travelling leads me to shift focus: It brings me to peace and quiet, allowing me to look at everything from a different perspective - whether at work or concerning me personally.

Oh and where to go next ;)

What have you learned at dgroup?

Work is a term that if coming together with the right people and the right mindset, you can shape by your own rules.

What was your best team / client situation?

Learning that the slogan “One dgroupie never lets another dgroupie down” truly matters at dgroup.
